About Me
My name is Will Moon, I’m a product manager and UI/UX designer specializing in designing intuitive products for users in the technology space, as well as industrial design in manufacturing. I began my career as a custom knife and tool maker, designing and making handmade custom pocket knives entirely in my shop in Apex, NC, and putting myself through college at NC State University. After I graduated, I stayed with my knife and tool business until 2019, when I left the business to help co-found WhiteStar Communications.
During my time at WhiteStar, I’ve been the lead project manager on staff, responsible for managing the engineering team, but also flexing between the business side of the company. I designed all graphic and motion assets for the company, as well as UI/UX designs, animations, managed all social media accounts, was part of the product delivery team for interfacing with clients and customers, conducted user group research, managed all of the WhiteStar application pages, wrote the technical documentation for all products and helped to develop product requirements for all products.
I have a personal commitment to help people create products that help protect their privacy online, and care deeply about digital rights and freedoms.
I reside in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with my wife, Leslie. I work remotely for WhiteStar, which, while based in RTP, also has offices in Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia. My wife and I are outdoor enthusiasts who relish exploring North Carolina’s stunning natural landscapes, particularly enjoying hiking in the mountains. In my spare time, I indulge in my passion for music by playing the guitar and continue to pursue my interest in metalworking projects.
